How To Use Daily Stepping Stones to Reach New Places

Hey team!

Another week is almost in the books. I hope you had some Ws along the way. If not, I know they're coming.

We're getting into the dog days of winter where the days are short, the nights are dark and the weather is cold (depending on where you live).

It's a tough time to stay consistent with health goals, I know.

The motivation of the holidays and new year are long gone, so how do you stay on track?

Well, I just had a conversation about this with one of my clients.

She was telling me that her energy has fallen off and with it her motivation to workout has taken a dip.

She has had a little plateau in her weight loss as well which is exacerbating the problem.

So what was the focus of our conversation?

Perspective!

You see, sometimes we can get too caught up in the big picture of losing weight or changing physique and we completely overlook the daily victories.

One such victory is giving yourself credit for doing the work that day.

Check the box, pat yourself on the back, pin a star to your chest, or any other form of congratulations for showing up another day.

Some days are going to be better than others, but everyday can be seen as W if you put the work in to whatever capacity you're capable that day.

I told her to think of herself as a locomotive. The stops along the journey are the big wins and the tracks you use to get there are the small daily wins.

After our conversation we got back into the workout and guess what happened?

She was able to perform two different exercises in full that she previously had to modify to an easier version.

Boom!

Progress!

I gave her credit, she gave herself credit and we were back on track and moving forward again.

Prioritizing health is hard.

It's sometimes boring.

So help yourself stay on the path by showing self-pride and gratification.

You guys got this!
